Copa America Centenario 2016- Championship Final ARG vs. CHILE
Argentina vs. Chile June 26, 2016- 8:00 PM ET (TV FS1) MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
Copa America Centenario 2016 will come to an end on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium with a pair of South American neighbors taking to the pitch as Argentina will square off against defending champion Chile in a fixture that has the following betting lines;
Best Argentina Lines: BetOnline (-135) Spread -1/2
Best Chile Lines: BetOnline (+360) Spread +1/2
Draw: +245 Over/Under: BetOnline 2.0
In a rematch from last season, La Roja will seek to defend their Copa America crown when they battle La Pulga once again as this match is expected to bring forth the same type of excitement we saw last year when Chile defeated Argentina on penalty kicks.
These two South American foes are two of the best in the world as Argentina led by the perhaps the world’s-best player in Lionel Messi, who has his team ranked No. 1 in all of soccer, while the Chileans are ranked No. 5.
But it was La Roja who got the better of Argentina last year; no doubt a bad taste that still has to linger in the mouths of the Argentinians?
Sunday’s finale will mark the second meeting in this special tournament for both teams as Argentina got the better of Chile 2-1 back on June 6 in the tournament’s opener. The Argentinians also took a March fixture by the same score in what was a World Cup qualifying encounter.
But with the stakes a lot higher this time around, what can fans expect from South America’s two most exciting teams?
And speaking of excitement, there is none more than perhaps Messi, who in this tournament has continued his dominating play and has asserted himself as one of the most elite players in the world with another brilliant performance with five-goals and four-assists thus far.
Argentina is coming off a 4-0 beating over the United States in the semifinals, while the team from Chile defeated the Colombians in their deciding semifinal match.
Argentina will enter this “winner-take-all” match shorthanded as Angel Di Maria (muscle injury) is listed as doubtful, while Ezequiel Lavezzi (broken elbow) will be in street clothes.
Not immune to injuries on their own side of the ball, Chile will be without midfielders Pablo Hernandez (knee) and Marcelo Diaz.
But as the game must go on, so will these two world powers as they will be ready to put on a show and bring home the hardware. Taking a look at the betting lines, BetOnline is favoring ARG (-135 ML) over CHILE with an over/under of 2.0 total game goals scored and the draw +245.
Staying away from the moneyline, for betting purposes I will favor the OVER of 2.0 total game goals scored as my betting pick for the final of Copa America Centenario.
