Chicago Cubs (103-58, 46-34 away) at San Francisco Giants (87-75, 45-36 home)
October 11, 2016- 8:30 PM ET (TV FS1) AT&T Park, San Francisco, CA
With a dramatic Game 3 victory to stave off elimination, the San Francisco Giants will live to play another day when they will take to the diamond at AT&T Park on Tuesday night to square off against the Chicago Cubs in a Game 4 NLDS matchup that has the following betting lines;
Best Cubs Lines: 5Dimes Lines “See Live Odds”
Best Dodgers Lines: MyBookie Lines “See Live Odds”
Over/Under: BetOnline “See Live Odds”
For the 10th consecutive time when on the brink of elimination, the Giants did what needed as was the case in Game 3 on Monday night when San Francisco outlasted the Cubs 6-5 in 13 innings to force a Game 4 on Tuesday night.
No stranger to pressure when they captured World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014, the Giants will be in search of some more postseason magic versus a Chicago team pegged by many to win it all this season.
Knowing all too well what the Giants are capable of doing, the Cubs will aim to end this series in the Bay not wanting to leave anything to chance in a Game 5 back in the Windy City.
And the man getting the call to do just that will be long-time veteran right-hander John Lackey, who as an 11-game winner for Chicago in 2016 will be making his 21st career postseason start; the most by any active pitcher.
In seven meetings against the Giants, Lackey is 2-1 with a 3.62 ERA.
Countering Lackey and the San Francisco bats will be Chicago left-hander Matt Moore, who was pushed back to Game 4 after being slated for Game 2 back in Wrigley.
Facing the Giants for the first time in his career after coming over from Tampa Bay, Moore is 1-1 in four postseason games. Moore for his part was stellar down the stretch for the Giants as San Francisco was in a massive dogfight to make the playoffs.
After two big wins at home to push the Giants on the brink of vacation only to see San Francisco survive when needed, Chicago will now be the one scrambling to get momentum back on their side.
Not much else needs to be said about what’s at stake here as these two teams will take the field with a great sense of urgency. But, as we await the betting lines from 5Dimes, MyBookie and others, we can only guess who the experts will have favored between CHC vs. SF in Game 4?
This may be a matchup where the best bet may be the over/under as my pick, but we can only wait and see what the experts bring us.
