National Basketball Association: Eastern Conference 1st Round

April 17, 2017- 7:00 PM ET (TV TNT) Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH
After a closely played game but coming up short, the Indiana Pacers will have another go when they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in a Game 2 matchup at Quicken Loans Arena on Monday night that has the following betting lines from our best sportsbooks;
Best Pacers Lines: Bovada Spread (+7.5) ML +280
Best Cavs Lines: BetOnline Spread (-7.5) ML -355
Over/Under: 5Dimes 210.0
Game 1 between these two teams brought about plenty of excitement with the Cavaliers holding on for a 109-108 home victory on Saturday in a game the Pacers say they feel they let one get away.
Coming up short, though, encouraged, Indiana will now set their sights on a split when both teams take to the floor in Cleveland.
Game 2 will be an important mark for the Cavs as they have never lost a playoff series when they led 2-0 and when winning the first game in a playoff series have advanced 15 of 16 times.
As for LeBron James, he is perfect in his career in having never lost a first-round series and overall is 45-7 in the opening round, including have won 18 straight.
Knowing all too well the importance of needing to win Game 2, the Pacers understand they will need to take full advantage of any and all opportunities on Monday night. Game 1 saw the Pacers fight back from a deficit but shot themselves in the foot by going cold for nearly three minutes in the final minutes of the fourth and missing what was the game winner; a 14-foot open shot at the final buzzer by C.J. Miles.
And while it was a win for the Cavs, they once again saw their defense come undone as they gave up a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. A trend that almost cost them their fifth straight defeat dating back to the regular season.
James was his usual brilliant self with 32 points scored, 13 assists and six boards in 43 minutes of play but as a whole knows his team will need to do a better job of executing on both ends of the floor.
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday with Game 4 on Sunday as the series will shift to Indiana.
Will the Pacers be able to steal one away in Cleveland in Game 2 to get homecourt advantage or will they be heading back to Indiana in a 0-2 hole? For Monday’s contest, BetOnline is favoring CLE (-7.5) points over IND with an over/under of 210.0 total game points scored.
For sports betting purposes for our US players, I will favor the OVER of 210.0 total game points scored as my best pick for this matchup.
