National Basketball Association: MEM vs. OKC
Memphis Grizzlies (24-16, 10-9 away) at Oklahoma City Thunder (23-16, 14-6 home)
January 11, 2017- 8:00 PM ET (TV ESPN) Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
Looking for payback in a big way, the Oklahoma City Thunder will take to the court on Wednesday night as they will welcome in the Memphis Grizzlies into Chesapeake Energy Arena in a Western Conference clash that has the following betting lines;
Best Grizzlies Lines: 5Dimes Spread (+4.5) ML +165
Best Thunder Lines: MyBookie Spread (-4.5) ML “See Live Odds”
Over/Under: BetOnline 204.5
After taking a 114-80 thrashing back in Memphis the first time around, the Thunder will have revenge on their minds as both teams will be meeting for the second of four meetings.
Memphis at 24-16 and Oklahoma City at 23-16 will both enter this “rivalry” contest aiming to keep their winning streaks in tact as each team as won two straight.
Memphis is holding on to the third-spot in the Southwest Division 7 games back of San Antonio and and the red-hot Houston Rockets, who have won nine consecutive games. For the Thunder, they are one-half game back of Utah in the Northwest Division.
The Grizzlies will have their “Big Three” available in point guard Mike Conley, center Mar Gasol and power forward Zach Randolph off the bench. The three main weapons of the Grizzlies have been a force in the NBA for many seasons and one that nearly every team has been challenged in trying to stop.
On the Oklahoma City side of the ball, it’s been all about Russell Westbrook and his unbelievable play this season as he has had to put the team on his shoulders night in and night out. Averaging a triple-double thus far with 31.2 PPG, 10.6 RPG and 10.4 APG, Westbrook is finally getting some much-needed help with fellow teammates, centers Steve Adams and Enes Katner. The centers have picked up their scoring output in recent games to give the Thunder more options down in the post rather than Westbrook having to initiate the offense on every play.
Back on December 29 when the Grizzlies took it to Oklahoma City, the Thunder took exception to what they felt Memphis was doing down the end jacking up 3’s with the game already in hand.
A move that has left a bad taste in the mouths of the Thunder. Feeling that may be all the motive they need for payback, MyBookie is favoring OKC (-4.5) points over MEM with an over/under of 204.5 total game points scored from BetOnline.
Expecting a more closer game with more offense from the Thunder, I will favor the OVER of 204.5 total game points scored as my betting pick.
