With brooms in hand, the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers will look for the sweep when they square off against the Minnesota Twins in the series finale on Wednesday night in a Interleague matchup that has the following betting lines from our best sportsbooks;
Twins Best Lines: MyBookie ML (+200) Spread +1.5
Dodgers Best Lines: MyBookie ML (-229) Spread -1.5
Over/Under: BetOnline 7.5
After two straight wins over the visiting Twins, the Dodgers will be poised to take it to Minnesota where they are already 9-1 in Interleague play versus the American League.
With a 6-2 win on Tuesday behind Kenta Maeda, the Dodgers moved their already impressive record to a whopping 70-31! A mark that has them 39 games over .500. And with their large lead in the West and National League overall, it couldn’t have come at a better time as Los Angeles will be without their All-Star and Cy Young candidate in Clayton Kershaw, who went down with a back injury that is expected to sideline him anywhere from 4-6 weeks.
The Dodgers can only hope Kershaw will be ready to bounce and be just as effective when he comes back as Los Angeles has become the odds-on favorite to win it all come October.
As for the Twins, they have lost three straight as they have seen their record drop to 49-50; a mark that has them 4 ½ games back in the AL Central. Minnesota is chasing the second-place Kansas City Royals who have won seven consecutive games and the first-place Cleveland Indians, who have captured five straight of their own.
Looking to restore order, the Twins will hand the ball to their ace in right-hander Ervin Santana, who is 11-7 with a 3.26 ERA.
Los Angeles will counter by sending to the hill, right-hander Brock Stewart. Stewart at 0-0 will be making his first start this season as he will be in place of Kershaw. Original starter in Alex Wood has been moved to Friday.
Can the Dodgers continue at this blistering pace without their ace in Kershaw?
We will soon have our answer, but for betting purposes for our US players on Wednesday, MyBookie is favoring LAD (-229 ML) over MIN with an over/under of 7.5 total game points scored from BetOnline; a number I will play as I will favor the OVER of 7.5 total game runs scored as my best betting pick.
