Over/Under: GTBets 64.0
In a highly anticipated nonconference rematch from last season, the No. 5 Sooners will travel into Ohio Stadium looking for revenge over the No. 2 Buckeyes as it was Ohio State who took care of business 45-24 over Oklahoma. It was bitter defeat for the Sooners last season in Norman to an inexperienced football team.
Fast forward to this year and it is Ohio State who are favored across the board to win at the Horseshoe by as much as (-7.5) points, but they know after humbling the Sooners in their own backyard, Oklahoma will be primed and ready to exact revenge.
Oklahoma has not lost a game since that defeat as they will carry in the nation’s longest winning streak of 11 games into this rematch. Lead by Heisman Trophy candidate Baker Mayfield, he will look to help lead his team against J.T. Barrett and his Buckeyes.
Oklahoma enters after embarrassing UTEP at home by a 56-7 score, while the Buckeyes got off to a slow start on the road in Bloomington last week before pulling ahead to win 49-21. The Sooners racked up 676.0 yards of offense, while Ohio State accounted for 596.0 yards of their own but both teams with their offense will be better challenged this time around. Both offenses displayed a balanced attack in their wins.
With what is considered to be a stout defense upfront for the Buckeyes, Mayfield may have to find holes in the secondary to move his offense?
Two of the most storied programs in college football, who will get the better of who, but keep in mind that Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer is 19-7 versus Top 10 opponents, including 8-4 at Ohio State. For sports betting purposes, BetOnline is favoring OSU (-7.5) points over OKLA with an over/under of 64.0 total game points scored.
Feeling a closer contest than expected, I will take the Sooners PLUS the points (+7.5) to cover the spread against Ohio State as my best betting pick.
