College Basketball: Men’s Championship ORE vs. KU
Midwest Region Elite 8
#3 Oregon Ducks (32-5) at #1 Kansas Jayhawks (31-4)
March 25, 2017- 8:49 PM ET (TV TBS) Sprint Center, Kansas City, MO
The second half of the Elite 8 on Saturday will take us out to Kansas City, Missouri as the No. 3 Oregon Ducks and No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks will do battle in a Midwest Region clash at the Sprint Center that has the following betting lines from our best betting sites;
Best Ducks Lines: MyBookie Spread (+7) ML
Best Jayhawks Lines: BetOnline Spread (-6.5) ML -325
Over/Under: 5Dimes 156.0
In what will be a heavily pro-Kansas crowd, they will seek to inject all the energy they need to push their Jayhawks for a win over an Oregon team that remains the lone Pac-12 team in the tournament after UCLA went down in defeat on Friday.
For the Ducks (32-5) they have been battle-tested thus far in the tournament with some close games, whereas the Jayhawks (31-4) have dominated the opposition by winning their three NCAA Tournament games by an average of 30 points all while torching the scoreboard for an average of 96.0 points per game.
If that wasn’t enough to contend with for the Ducks, Kansas will feel right at home at the Sprint Center which is less than an hour’s drive from Lawrence, Kansas; making for what will be a hostile crowd of 18,000-plus for Oregon to try to overcome.
The good news, however for Oregon is that they will be facing a Kansas team that plays a similar style of ball. The Jayhawks implore a four guard attack, while the Ducks also now play small play after the season-ending loss of 6-foot-10 forward Chris Boucher.
The man for Oregon will be Dillon Brooks, while for the Jayhawks, they will counter with national player of the year candidate Frank Mason III, who is coming off a 26-point performance his last time out.
Oregon is making their second consecutive Elite 8 appearance, but have not tasted a Final Four since way back when in 1939 when they won it all.
The Ducks will need to keep it close to keep the crowd at bay as the Jayhawks will be fired-up to put on another show in KC. For sportsbetting purposes as we take a look at the betting lines from our best sportsbooks, BetOnline is favoring KU (-6.5) points over ORE, while MyBookie is giving the underdog Ducks (+7).
The over/under is delivered by 5Dimes with 156.0 total game points scored; a number I will play as I will favor the OVER of 156.0 total game points scored as my betting pick.
