National Hockey League: Stanley Cup Final PIT vs. SJ
Game 4- PIT Leads 2-1
Pittsburgh Penguins (48-26-8 at San Jose Sharks (46-30-6)
June 6, 2016- 8:00 PM ET (TV NBC) SAP Center, San Jose, CA
In what was a another nail-biter, it was the San Jose Sharks this time around who took a bite out of the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 3 and now with another must-win staring them in the face, the Sharks will seek to even up this series when both teams take to the SAP Center ice on Monday night in a Game 4 contest that has the following betting lines;
Best Penguins Lines: MyBookie ML (+120) Spread +1.5
Best Sharks Lines: Bovada ML (-140) Spread -1.5
Over/Under: BetOnline 5.5
Needing a big time win to get back into this series, that is exactly what the Sharks did in Game 3 on Saturday in their first ever Stanley Cup game at the Shark Tank as San Jose edged out a 3-2 overtime victory and now will be aiming to even up this best-of-7 series before it shifts back to Pittsburgh for Game 5.
It was San Jose’s Joonas Donskoi who provided the game winner as he was just the latest player in a series filled with stars not named Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Joe Thornton or Joe Pavelski and others to find the back of the net.
Pittsburgh rookie Conor Sheary provided the game winner in overtime in Game 2; the first rookie in 30 years to score an overtime goal in the Final.
But now as each game becomes increasingly tense, will the big name stars that we have become accustomed to begin to become game changers, though Crosby did assist on a pair of goals back in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins defense has really put the clamps on Pavelski with their ability to block shots as they recorded 38 in Game 3, with 12 of those on Brent Burns.
But as the series becomes more and more intense with every play magnified, the opportunity to produce goals leaves a small margin. Regaining some confidence along with some momentum, the betting lines from Bovada leading into Game 3 has SJ (-140 ML) over PIT with an over/under of 5.5 total game goals scored from BetOnline.
Staying with the totals, I will favor the UNDER of 5.5 total game goals scored as my Game 3 pick.
