National Basketball Association: POR vs. LAL
Portland Trail Blazers (16-23, 6-15 away) at Los Angeles Lakers (15-26, 10-10 home)
January 10, 2017- 10:30 PM ET STAPLES Center, Los Angeles, CA
With their sights on their third straight win, the Los Angeles Lakers will play host to the visiting Portland Trail Blazers in late night NBA action on Tuesday with the betting lines for this Western Conference clash as follow;
Best Blazers Lines: topbet Spread (-1) ML “See Live Odds”
Best Lakers Lines: MyBookie Spread (+1.5) ML “See Live Odds”
Over/Under: 5Dimes 223.0
For only the second time this season, the Lakers will be in position to capture their third consecutive win as they will face a Portland team greatly underachieving this season as they continue to struggle to put together any type of consistent basketball.
Not since the beginning of November did we last see the Purple and Gold put together winning basketball but after disposing of Orlando on Friday and Miami on Sunday, the Lakers (15-26) will still enter this contest as slight underdogs.
This up and coming Laker team is full of young stars with plenty of potential but need to learn how to finish games and most importantly… play some defense as they are allowing 109.8 points per game, while scoring 105.3.
The No. 2 pick in the draft in Brandon Ingram has begun to assert himself on the court showing off his versatility on both ends of the floor.
Los Angeles is holding onto the fourth-spot in the Pacific Division 18.5 games back of Golden State but despite their record are within striking distance of a playoff spot.
For Portland at a disappointing 16-23, they are in the third-spot 7 games back of Utah and Oklahoma City in the Northwest Division as much of their troubles can pointed to one glaring statistic… defense; or lack of as they are allowing 111.5 points per game. The offense is scoring 108.2 points per contest.
Point guard Damian Lillard continues to be the team leader as he is averaging 26.6 PPG along with 6.3 APG.
Tuesday will mark the second of four meetings between these two rivals as it was the Blazers who got the better of the Lakers in a 118-109 home win.
And with that victory back in Portland, the Blazers have now beaten Los Angeles a franchise-record nine straight times. Going to the sportsbooks for this one, topbet is favoring POR (-1) point over LAL, while MyBookie is giving the underdog home Lakers (+1.5) points. 5Dimes clocks in with the over/under at 223.0 total game points scored.
Going with the totals in what should be a high-scoring affair, I will favor the OVER of 223.0 total game points scored as my betting pick.
