May 11, 2017- 8:00 PM ET (TV ESPN) Toyota Center, Houston, TX
After letting one slip away their last time out, the Houston Rockets will take to the Toyota Center floor on Thursday night needing a win to extend this series against the San Antonio Spurs as both teams will tip it off in a pivotal Game 6 matchup that has the following betting lines from our best sportsbooks;
Best Spurs Lines: 5Dimes Spread (+7.5) ML +270
Best Rockets Lines: MyBookie Spread (-7) ML -320
Over/Under: Bovada 214.0
Game 5 brought about a heartbreaking defeat for the Rockets on the road where they were in control and on their way to putting themselves one win away from ending this series. However, after blowing a nine-point lead down the stretch to lose 110-107 in overtime, it is now Houston who will need to find a way to bounce back in Game 6 or face elimination as they find themselves down 3-2 in this best-of-seven series.
MVP candidate James Harden did all he can in trying to help deliver a win for his team on the road posting a triple-double with 33 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, but failed to finish down the stretch where he went just 1 for 6 with four turnovers over the final 10 minutes of the game.
Head coach Mike D’Antoni cites a lack of execution and rebounding as their demise in Game 5 where they surrendered 18 offensive rebounds to the Spurs. A telling stat that says they miss their man Nene on the court. Nene went down with an injury in the opening minutes of Game 4 and is gone for the year.
As is Tony Parker for the Spurs, but the bigger concern for the Spurs leading into Game 6 will be the availability of fellow MVP candidate Kawhi Leonard, who is dealing with an injured right ankle. Leonard is officially listed as questionable for Thursday and no doubt will be a major blow for the Spurs if unable to step on the court.
Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday back in San Antonio if needed.
A goal that the Rockets will be shooting for and will greatly like their chances if Leonard is unable to suit up, Whether Leonard will play, we will soon find out, but for sports betting purposes for our US players, MyBookie is favoring HOU (-7) points over SA, while 5Dimes is giving the underdog Spurs (+7.5) points.
Bovada delivers the over/under with 214.0 total game points scored; a number I will play as I will favor the OVER of 214.0 total game points scored as my best betting pick.
