National Football League: Week 1 Preseason DAL vs. SF
Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers August 9, 2018- 10:00 PM ET (NFLN) Levi’s Stadium Santa Clara, CA
In a game most are looking forward to, the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers will highlight what should be an exciting Week 1 preseason clash at Levi’s Stadium on Thursday night that has the following betting lines from our online bookies;
Heading into the new season, the Cowboys and their fans will be looking for a much better outcome as Dallas failed to make the postseason after finishing 9-7 on the year. Sitting at 5-3 in Week 9, it was the offense that did them in as they scored just a combined 22 points in three straight games resulting in losses to the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers.
And with the Dallas offense, they will be missing two huge pieces as WR Dez Bryant is gone, as is TE Jason Witten, who has since retired. With two big threats missing, the pressure will be on QB Dak Prescott and and RB Ezekiel Elliott to lead the offense and help keep the team competitive as they find themselves in the NFC East; a division that the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are favored to win yet again.
For the 49ers out of the NFC West, last season proved to be a tale of two halves as they went a dismal 0-9 before catching fire and winning six of their remaining seven games, including five straight to end the year. Much of San Francisco’s success to end the year can be attributed to QB Jimmy Garoppolo, who was brought over from the New England Patriots.
Back under center in 2018, Garoppolo has brought excitement back to the Bay Area as he will have help on the offensive end with receivers Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin along with ball carrier Jerick McKinnon. It will be the Los Angeles Rams division to lose, but a winning record by the Niners will give them plenty of hope heading into the future behind Garoppolo.
Many NFL fans (including me) will be anxiously waiting on the sidelines to see how the Cowboys will perform this season without two pivotal parts to their offense, while many will want to see if Garoppolo is indeed the answer? For sports betting purposes for this DAL vs. SF matchup from our selected NFL Picks, MyBookie is favoring the 49ers (-3.5) points over Dallas with BetNow laying the Over/Under at 34.5 total game points scored. Staying with the home team in this one, I will favor San Francisco MINUS the points (-3.5) over Dem’ Boys to cover the spread as my best betting pick.
