As they begin a six-game road swing beginning in the City of Angels, the Warriors are hoping to have Stephen Curry back on the court when they take on the Lakers for the first of four meetings this season.
And while Curry is expected to be in the lineup as he is dealing with a bruised right hand, fellow teammate Kevin Durant is not expected to play as he is dealing with a sprained left ankle.
Also dealing with injuries are Andre Iguodala (sore left knee) and Draymond Green (bruised right foot) but both are expected to be ready to face a Laker team, who at 8-12 are 6.5 games back of the 15-6 Warriors in the Pacific Division.
Golden State enters having come off a 110-106 home defeat to the Sacramento Kings.
For the Lakers, they will be looking to snap a two-game skid of their own, but the know the challenge will be great facing the defending World Champions. Los Angeles is coming off a 120-115 road defeat to the LA Clippers on Monday night, but did receive some good news as PF Larry Nance Jr. returned to the lineup.
Nance had missed the previous 11 games dealing with a left hand fracture but didn’t seem to miss a beat pouring in nine points with eight boards and four steals in 30 minutes of action against the Clips.
With Nance back in the starting lineup, rookie Kyle Kuzma returned back to the bench as he will once again bolster the second unit. Kuzma went for 15 points in 20 minutes of play as he leads the team in scoring with 16.8 points per game.
Golden State is scoring a blistering 116.9 points per game to 105.8 for the Lakers. Both teams will play once more at Staples Center in December before the series shifts to the Bay Area for the final two of the regular season.
Despite the absence of Durant, the Lakers will still have their hands full in trying to contain the offensive power of the Warriors. And, as we await the complete betting lines for our US players, we have to figure GS will be favored over LAL perhaps in double digits, but let’s see what the sportsbooks gives us before deciding our best sports betting pick.
