College Football: Mountain West Conference HAW vs. CSU
Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (0-0, 0-0 Conf.) at Colorado State Rams (0-0, 0-0 Conf.) August 25, 2018- 7:30 PM ET Hughes Stadium, Fort Collins, CO
With the start of college football finally upon us, let’s go out to Fort Collins for a Mountain West Conference clash as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will square against the Colorado State Rams in a Saturday night matchup that has the following College Football Odds for this game from our USA sportsbooks;
The current public NCAAF consensus is in favor of the Rams with a -525 moneyline.
With having to travel across the Pacific for a game in the Rocky Mountains, the Rainbow Warriors will have a tough task on the road as they will open up the season against Colorado State in what will be both teams season and conference opener.
Favored by two touchdowns as they seek their eighth straight win against underdog Hawaii, Colorado State is coming off a 7-6 campaign after losing to Marshall 31-28 in last season’s Gildan New Mexico Bowl.
Hawaii enters the 2018 season seeking better fortunes after going 3-8 in 2017 and finishing a tied for fifth in the MWC West Division. Looking to help guide the Rainbow Warriors this season will be QB Cole McDonald, who saw limited action last season. It will be a tough challenge for the Rainbow Warriors on the offensive end as they have lost former quarterback Dru Brown to transfer, leading receiver Dylan Collie to transfer and the graduation of leading running back Diocemy Saint Juste.
Colorado State enters with their own quarterback issues as Colin Hill has re-injured his ACL meaning former Washington Huskies’ K.J. Carta-Samuels will get the nod under center. It’s been all Rams of late versus their conference rival, but enter the new season having lost eight of their starting starters.
Running back Izzy Matthews and his 58.3 yards per game will get the bulk of the carries this season and has found success against Hawaii with 95 yards and two touchdowns.
Taking a look at this HAW vs. CSU matchup from our best sportsbooks, BetOnline is favoring the Rams (-14) points over Hawaii with BetOnline giving the Rainbow Warriors (+14.5) points.
BetNow delivers the Over/Under with 56.5 total game points scored. It was all Colorado State last meeting with a 51-21 trounching, but with too many questions with both teams, I will favor the UNDER of 56.5 total game points scored as my best betting pick as Hawaii tends to keep games low scoring.
