Meeting for the second time this season, a pair of first-place teams will square off in a matchup on national television that may once again provide for a postseason preview? Back at it again in Oakland, the Warriors will be looking for a repeat performance after taking down Minnesota 125-101 the first time around. And in that first meeting back on Nov. 8, Golden State handled the T’Wolves easily without star Kevin Durant.

Sitting at 31-19 and atop the Northwest Division, 2 ½ games up on the Oklahoma City Thunder, Thursday’s contest will once again provide for a true test versus the defending NBA champions, who at 38-10 are running away with the Pacific Division with a 14 ½ game lead on the Los Angeles Clippers.

And in Thursday’s matchup, a total of six All-Stars will be on display between each team; four for the Warriors and two for Minnesota.

It’s been a special year to this point for the T’Wolves behind All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns as Minnesota has not made the postseason since the 2004 season.

Golden State for their part enters with wins in five of their last six games and behind their share of All-Stars in Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson all but appear to be the team to beat once again as they have taken home the hardware in two of the past three seasons.

With the Timberwolves coming off a defeat on Wednesday night in Portland and the Warriors enjoying some rest since Tuesday, it will be a tough task to come away with a road win for Minnesota.

And in 107 meetings all-time, the Warriors hold a 63-44 advantage, including having won 18 of the last 21 head-to-head contests. Much of the same expected for this one; for sports betting purposes for our US players, MyBookie is favoring GS (-10.5) points over MIN with an over/under from BetOnline that still needs to be determined.

Feeling too much home team, I will favor the Warriors MINUS the points (-10.5) points over Minnesota for the win as my best betting pick.
