Nashville Predators vs Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction, Pick – 6/8/17

National Hockey League: Stanley Cup Final NAS vs. PIT

Best-of-7: Game 5 Series Tied 2-2

Nashville Predators (41-29-12) at Pittsburgh Penguins (50-21-11)

June 8, 2017- 8:00 PM ET (TV NBC) PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh, PA

Unlike their brethren in the NBA, we have a series here for the NHL Stanley Final as the Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins will face off in a pivotal Game 5 matchup on Thursday night at PPG Paints Arena that has the following betting lines from our best sportsbooks;

Best Predators Lines: MyBookie ML (+135) Spread +1.5

Best Penguins Lines: BetOnline ML (-155) Spread -1.5

Over/Under: Bovada 5.5

With the series tied 2-2 after each team held court on their own home ice, each team will skate into an all-important Game 5 that will put the victor just one win away from winning it all.

Pittsburgh took home victories in Games 1 and 2 to quickly get out in front of this series, but thanks to some dominate home play by the Preds back in Nashville to win Games 3 and 4, they have shifted the momentum in their favor.

The Preds are well aware that they will need to steal one away on the road if they want any chance of capturing their first ever Stanley Cup, while the defending champion Pens know they just need to take care of business at home and a repeat Cup is theirs.

Simply put, this series has now come down to a best-of-three setting up what will be a crucial contest on Thursday.

If the Predators can keep the momentum going and take Game 5, they will set themselves up to clinch it all on Sunday at home. If a Game 7 is needed, that will be next Wednesday night in Pittsburgh.

Both teams have shined on their own ice with the Pens winning Games 1 and 2 by a combined 9-4, while the Preds won their two games by a 9-2 margin.

Nashville has looked good at times on the road in this series, but with a sense of urgency that will be great for both teams once the puck is dropped, the Predators may need to play a full 60 minutes if they have any hopes securing victory on Thursday?

And as we look into the Game 5 sports betting lines for our US players, BetOnline is favoring PIT (-155 ML) over NAS with an over/under of 5.5 total game goals scored from Bovada; a number I will play as I will favor the UNDER of 5.5 total game goals scored as my best betting pick.
