National Football League: NFC NYG vs. DAL
New York Giants (0-0, 0-0 away) at Dallas Cowboys (0-0, 0-0 home)
September 10, 2017- 8:30 PM ET (TV NBC) AT&T Stadium, Dallas, TX
For the third straight year, two bitter NFC East rivals will clash at AT&T Stadium in a primetime matchup that should provide plenty of entertainment as the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys will have center stage in a contest that has the following betting lines from our best sportsbooks;
Best Giants Lines: MyBookie Spread (+4) ML +170
Best Cowboys Lines: GTBets Spread (-4) ML -205
Over/Under: BetOnline 47.5
With the first two meetings to open the season a split, which of these two division powers will take the W as a national audience will be tuned in? Dallas took the initial season opener in 2015 in a year in which both teams failed to make the playoffs, only to see the G-Men win at Dallas last season as well as in New York to complete the sweep in a December matchup.
However, if we remember in between those losses by Dallas, they ran the gauntlet to win the East before falling in the postseason to the Green Bay Packers?
And much like last season, the Cowboys will be paced by the 1-2 punch of sophomores Dak Prescott under center and running back Ezekiel Elliott. But, when it comes to making headlines for all the wrong reasons, Elliott was handed down a six game suspension for his domestic violence case. However, it was ruled late Friday that Elliott can indeed play on Sunday as his case is being heard.
For the Giants, they will once again be led by their field general in veteran Eli Manning and star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. However, the status of Beckham remains unclear as he is dealing with an injured left ankle.
Added to the mix of receivers for New York will be Brandon Marshall along with drafted tight end Evan Engram. These new additions are expected to be a much needed shot in the arm for an offense that averaged just 330 yards per game in 2016.
In what is pegged to be another competitive NFC East, both teams will want to get off to a strong start. As for sports betting purposes for our US players, GTBets is favoring DAL (-4) points over NYG with an over/under of 47.5 total game points scored from BetOnline.
Expecting enough on the defensive end from both teams, I will favor the UNDER of 47.5 total game points scored as my best betting pick.
