The current public NFL consensus is in favor of the Eagles +148.

After losing their preseason opener at home by a 31-14 score, the Eagles will be seeking a much better performance when they face a New England team that will be at home for the second straight week.

One big area the Eagles will be looking to improve upon will be taking care of the football where they turned the ball over three times their last time out. While all of Philadelphia awaits the return of Carson Wentz to get healthy and Nick Foles resting, the Eagles used two quarterback in Nate Sudfeld and Joe Callahan in their opener; the two combined QBs threw for 219 yards with a pair of interceptions.

Running back Corey Clement rushed for 30 yards on five carries to lead all Philadelphia backs.

For the Pats, they are coming off a 26-17 preseason victory over the Washington Redskins in a game in which backup quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Danny Etling played error free. Throwing for a combined 161 passing yards with no touchdowns, both hurlers managed not to turn the ball over.

Down by 10 points after the first quarter, the Patriot backups played well to lead the comeback with RB Jeremy Hill gathering up 51 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown.

Heading into this matchup, the Eagles have won six of their previous nine preseason games, while New England has dropped four of their last six in exhibition.

Prediction/Pick

New England isn’t a team that likes to play their starters much in the preseason, but we can bet the Patriots will want to get some form of revenge on the team that beat them in the Super Bowl. For sports betting purposes for this PHI vs. NE matchup from our top-rated sportsbooks, MyBookie is favoring the Patriots (-3) points over Philadelphia with GTBets delivering the over/under with 43.0 total game points scored.

Expecting New England to have some extra motivation, I will favor the Patriots MINUS the points (-3) over Philadelphia to cover the spread for the win for this NFL pick.
