After three straight road losses, Lebron James and company return home to some great news as they will be welcomed with the return of two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas as he will be making his Cleveland debut.

And for the Cavs, it couldn’t have come at a better time as they will be hoping the talented point guard who was brought over in a trade from the Boston Celtics for Kyrie Irving will be the much-needed shot in the arm the team needs after playing like “trash” on their recent road swing; a trip that saw them lose three straight to fall to 24-12 on the season.

Cleveland with a 3 ½ game lead in the Central Division over the Detroit Pistons will now look to make a move in the East as Thomas will begin to play himself back into basketball shape as he has missed the first 36 games of the season with various hip injuries. Thomas is expected to come off the bench and see limited action.

And with a trip into Boston on Wednesday, Thomas will not face his old team as he will not play on consecutive nights in his early comeback. Cleveland is scheduled to play back on Boston on February 11.

For the Blazers, they will get a shot of their own when their All-Star point guard Damian Lillard is expected to be back on the court after missing the last five games with a hamstring injury.

Portland is coming off a 124-120 overtime win on Monday over Chicago to move their record to 19-17 on the season; third-place at 4 games back of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Northwest Division.

This will be the first of two meetings for these teams with both teams meeting in mid-March back in Portland.

With the Blazers playing in their second game in two nights and Cavs enjoying two days off, the NBA didn’t do Portland any favors heading into this one, but such is life in the Association.
