Needing to win in their final regular-season game, the Titans (9-7) came away with a victory over the playoff bound Jacksonville Jaguars by a 15-10 score to punch their ticket to their first postseason appearance since 2008.

That win over the Jags snapped a three-game losing streak and as the Titans enter this matchup, they will have a bit of confidence after defeating the Chiefs on the road in Week 15 of the 2016 season by a 19-17 score; a game in which Tennessee rallied back from 17-7 fourth quarter deficit.

Helping to lead the win in that game was quarterback Marcus Mariota who will also be at the helm in this one. Their leader, Mariota on the year threw for 3,232 yards with 13 touchdowns but threw the wrong way 15 times to opponents. One nice advantage for Mariota is his mobility and may play a big factor in this one if needed?

Out for the Titans is running back DeMarco Murray with an MCL tear leaving Travis Henry to go up against the tough KC defense; a defense that forced 24 turnovers during the regular-season.

For Kansas City, they regrouped down the end to capture their second straight AFC West title with a 10-6 record but enter with key injuries on special teams. Kick returners Akeem Hunt and De’Anthony Thomas went down with season-ending injuries in the season finale. The injuries to Hunt and Thomas will force the Chiefs to look to speedster Tyreek Hill on kick returns.

Veteran quarterback Alex Smith will be under center where on the season he threw for 4,042 yards with 26 touchdowns to five picks, but as mentioned, it may the be Kansas City defense that makes the difference in this one if they can contain Mariota.

With temperatures expected to be below freezing come kickoff, let’s see how much of a factor Mother Nature plays?

For sports betting purposes for our US players, BetOnline is favoring KC (-8) points over TENN, while MyBookie is giving the underdog roadies (+8.5) points. 5Dimes delivers the over/under with 44.5 total game points scored; a number I will play as I will favor the UNDER of 44.5 total game points scored as my best betting pick.
